Samsun, Turkey - 2013
The Samsun administrative building consists of the administration, infirmary, and mess hall sections of the factory complex. To enforce the overall minimalist concept of the building, we used bare concrete, concrete plaster, and all duct work and pipes were left bare and visible, which allows for cohesion with the factory around it.
The main atrium separates the different offices and facilities of the building, whilst the roof construction and choice of materials (aluminum paneling) bring the whole building together. the choice of bare steel construction in the main atrium, along with steel staircase, elevator and sun awnings that are all visible thru the glass façade in force a overall bare industrial feeling to the building.
